We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • He or she will be responsibile for handling daily financial transactions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and handling payments.
  • Key duties involve auditing daily sales against point-of-sale (POS) data, managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting with inventory costing, and preparing financial reports to support management decisions.
  • The role requires strong organizational skills and accuracy to ensure financial records are up-to-date and compliant.

Core Responsibilities

  • Record and process transactions: Accurately record all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable: Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Inventory Accounting: Assist with the proper valuation of monthly stock, coordinate with cost control, and perform stock reconciliations to monitor food and beverage costs.
  • Revenue Auditing: Audit daily sales summaries and reconcile them with POS reports, verifying cash and credit card transactions.
  • Reporting and analysis: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, and provide analysis on variances against the budget.
  • Budgeting support: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and monitor actual performance against the budget.

Required skills and experience

  • Degree / HND in Accounting is a must and proven experience of a minimum of at least 3 years in operations management or a similar role, preferably, in a QSR or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial management.
  • Ability to maintain and improve operational processes and implement best practices.
  • Knowledge of human resources, inventory control, and quality assurance protocols.
