Job Description
- As anAccounting and Administrative Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to various accounting, administrative, and financial tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- As anAccounting and Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of bookkeeping, virtual and personal assistant, tax-related, and financial modeling duties.
- Previous experience in audit or accounting firms, including proficiency with accounting software packages and Caseware, is highly valued. Knowledge of and proficiency with Tax prep software is an asset, but not mandatory.

- Perfect written and spoken English, this is a mandatory requirement. Ability to speak French is not required, but is a great asset.

Responsibilities
- Conduct day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing tax remittance reports,and preparing financial statements.
- Provide virtual and personal assistant support to the management team, including managing schedules and workflow, arranging meetings, ad-hoc administrative tasks, and handling correspondence. This is a hybrid virtual assistant and accounting role.
- Assist with ad-hoc tax-related tasks, such as preparing tax returns, gathering tax documents, and liaising with external tax professionals (all under the guidance of a supervisor)
- Support financial modeling activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accounting software and other relevant systems.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
- 2+ years relevant work experience.
- Previous experience working in audit or accounting firms is strongly preferred, but not required to be from a Big Four firm.
- Proficiency with installed and cloud-based accounting software packages (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and CaseWare) is essential.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and manipulate complex spreadsheets.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities. Ability to follow instructions and solve problems is also required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, while also collaborating effectively with team members.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with Taxprep software is considered an asset.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies, learn new skills and help out the team and management as required.
Salary
N250,000 – N350,000 / month.
