Objectives:
The Assistant Director of Clinical Quality Assurance is a member of the Clinical Services Directorate and is responsible for the coordination and delivery of high clinical standards through a direct focus on clinical quality assurance and trainings in collaboration with the clinical quality and training advisors. as guided by MDT and in line with the global Marie Stopes International (MSI) mantra of One World One Standard. This includes the coordination of and provision of all clinical training, competency assessments, and sufficient management of the Databases (CQIA, CTD, Incident database, and feedback databases) which are trackable systematically and result focus on the CP MDT quality scorecard. The post will be based in Abuja with regular travels to the regions.
Key Responsibilities:
team coordination
- Lead in inter and intradepartmental teamsโ coordination, strategic communication, and interface with other directorates and project execution through close-out.
- Lead all CQTA on channel growth, clinical quality efficiency, and productivity with monthly channel performance analysis to inform management planning.
- Lead the development of tools and update of clinical quality tools and systems to manage institutional knowledge and facilitate cross-directorate sharing and learning.
- Collate and coordinate the actions/ remedial measures for all red flags hinged on quality assurance from and make recommendations to the CSD quarterly.
- Manages the competency and training database, analyses same on a monthly basis, and recommends country program strategies to ensure a competent service delivery workforce.
- Coordinate second-level quality of care validation audits by CSDs and CQTAs
- Collaborates with RM&E and Programs/operations to strengthen MSI Nigeria data triangulation, consent, and documentation practices across all channels of service delivery.
Providing continuous quality Assurance improvement
- Provide guidance to the RQA/Clinical Training Officers in the region on MSIโs quality assurance processes.
- Review eQTA action plans as populated by RQAs and CQTAs before final despatch to DCs and LSO
- Tracking the implementation of QTA action plans ensuring they are delivered within agreed TOR.
Support the provision of clinical quality training
- Coordinate delivery of clinical trainings to ensure that the quality of trainings conforms to the Marie Stopes International Medical Development Team training standards and that of the Federal Ministry of Health.
- Follow up on all challenges/ complaints emanating from any clinical training sessions and ensure they are addressed professionally where necessary.
- While on monitoring visits, identify appropriate training needs for providers through a database and arrange for appropriate trainings.
Partnership & advocacy responsibilities:
- Participate and represent MSI Nigeria in external stakeholdersโ meetings and media communications.
- Nurture collaborative professional networks with the government health departments (at Federal, State, and Local Councils), the private sector, organisations, and individuals.
- Represent MSN at forums, meetings, and conferences with health authorities, technical workgroups, or other bodies aiming to further access to health services.
ย Clinical responsibilities:
- Participate actively in relevant workshops and conferences and contribute to the review of clinical standards and protocols for the benefit of MSI Nigeria and its affiliates.
- Remain clinically active in MSI Nigeriaโs core services and support the centres to provide clinical services as and when the need arises.
- Willingness to travel at least 70% of the time to often challenging terrains.
Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by his/her line manager.
Required Qualifications:
| Degree in Medicine and Surgery or Nursing/Midwifery Masterโs degree in public health or international health an advantage Senior Nurse/Midwives with training experience in Sexual and Reproductive health care delivery Evidence of good standing with a recognised clinical-related professional body. | At least 8 years post-graduation experience Experience working in Sexual and Reproductive Health Experience in implementing quality assurance/quality improvement projects. Good project management and coordination skills Good written and verbal communication skills. Work experience with a non-governmental organization. Articulate and analytical with attention to detailsย ย Must have the requisite experience to work with minimum supervision. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages. Familiarity /Experience with the geography of the intervention states is desired. |
