Job Title: Grant Writer

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential funding sources, including government grants, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals that are clear, compelling, and align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with program staff to gather necessary data, reports, and supporting documentation for grant applications.
  • Ensure all grant proposals meet funders’ guidelines, deadlines, and required formats.
  • Maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, submission statuses, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor the progress of submitted grants and follow up with funding agencies as needed.
  • Prepare progress reports and other required documentation for ongoing grants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations and funders.
  • Stay current with industry trends, grant regulations, and best practices in grant writing.
  • Assist with other fundraising efforts, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 2 – 3 years proven experience in grant writing, with a strong track record of successful proposals.
  • Must have experience writing grants for US based organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to research and analyse grant opportunities and funding trends.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit organizations and fundraising strategies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software is a plus.
  • A passion for small business development and financial literacy is a plus.

Salary
N150,000 monthly.
