Job Summary
- The Head of Mechanical is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations within Dangote Group.
- The role entails strategic planning, project management, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance standards and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering department, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime and performance.
- Supervise major mechanical projects, including installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical activities with business objectives.
- Establish and enforce safety standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze mechanical performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage budgeting and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Prepare and present reports on mechanical performance to executive management.
- Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and promote best practices throughout the organization.
Requirements, Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
