Job Summary
- The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation:
- Assist with washing, chopping, and prepping ingredients.
- Measure and prepare food items as directed by chefs or cooks.
Cooking Support:
- Help with cooking tasks, such as boiling, frying, or baking under supervision.
- Monitor cooking times and ensure food is prepared to specifications.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans; ensure all kitchen surfaces are sanitized.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Help with inventory counts and notify supervisors of low stock.
Assisting Staff:
- Support chefs and cooks during busy service times.
- Follow instructions and work collaboratively with the kitchen team.
Food Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
Waste Management:
- Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
- Assist in recycling and composting efforts.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items as needed.
Salary
N50,000 – N80,000 Monthly.
