Job Description:
- Are you a skilled Legal Officer seeking a dynamic environment to showcase your talent? CEMCS Ltd is recruiting highly skilled, experienced and qualified candidate to fill the position of a Legal Officer who will work with the Management and other team members in safeguarding the legal interests of the organization and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Case Management: Manage legal cases, including coordination with external legal counsel, if necessary.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of organizational policies to align with legal requirements and staying informed.
- Prepare legal documents, contracts, and agreements with precision and attention to detail.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure organizational compliance with relevant laws and regulations, keeping policies and procees documents up-to-date in E-Library.
- Contract Review: Review and negotiate contracts to safeguard the organization’s interest.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a reputable institution
- Call to the Bar. Be a qualified barrister or solicitor to the Nigerian Bar
- 2 years experience and above in a similar or higher position
Required Skills:
- Excellent analytical skills to assess legal issues and provide sound advice.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and external parties
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian laws and regulations, including an understanding of the legal system and court procedures.
- Skills in alternative dispute resolution methods and litigation management.
- Document Management Knowledge – keeping custody and record of all documents, process and policy documents.
- Proficient in conducting thorough legal research using various sources
- Strong ability to carefully draft and/or review legal documents, contracts, and agreements
- Effective problem-solving skills to navigate complex legal issues
