Job Description

  • The Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of Agbeyewa Farms.
  • This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • The Operations Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure smooth operational flow, optimize resource utilization, and contribute to the overall success of the farm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of daily farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and processing.
  • Monitor and track operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with farm supervisors and field officers to ensure efficient resource allocation and task execution.
  • Support the implementation of operational procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in the management of farm inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
  • Coordinate logistics for the transport of harvested cassava and other farm products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely procurement of supplies.
  • Collect and analyze operational data, preparing reports on key performance indicators.
  • Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including production data, resource usage, and maintenance logs.
  • Utilize data to identify trends and inform operational decisions.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure timely repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the documentation of operational procedures and compliance records.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in farm operations, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices and farm equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and learn new techniques.
