Job Title: Senior Manager – Marketing Research Specialist
Location: Ikeja GRA, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of comprehensive marketing research projects to gather insights on market trends, customer behavior, and competitive positioning.
- Analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights that guide marketing strategies and drive business growth.
- Utilize a wide range of research methods (surveys, focus groups, interviews, data analysis, etc.) to capture customer preferences, market trends, and business opportunities.
- Provide deep insights into consumer behavior patterns and preferences to shape marketing campaigns, product development, and brand positioning.
- Conduct competitive analysis to monitor competitors’ activities, market share, and marketing strategies, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop clear and concise reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate research findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with marketing, product development, sales, and other departments to ensure alignment of research insights with business objectives.
- Manage relationships with external research vendors and agencies, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Mentor and lead a team of marketing research analysts, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in marketing research, consumer insights, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research studies.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, or similar).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make actionable recommendations.
- Expertise in various research methodologies (e.g., surveys, focus groups, customer interviews, ethnography, etc.).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and impactful manner.
- Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools is a plus.
