DevTrain is a Non-Governmental Organization implementing social development programmes to promote sustainable environmental practices and empowerment of young people in communities.
DevTrain is seeking a talented and creative Social Media and Communications Intern. This position will be responsible for leading our social media presence and content strategy including digital advertising, managing and implementing internal and external communication projects to promote her activities in Benue State, Nigeria.
Focus on drafting and designing content for web, social media and print products for internal and external audiences, including stories/photographs, briefing books, itineraries, newsletters, factsheets, and press releases.
Facilitate and improve communication externally with key audiences and among employees and executive leadership.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities are not but limited to the following;
- Report to and work closely with the Programme Manager of DevTrain
- Will support program planning, design, review and review communications materials for internal and external audiences, including briefing books, employee newsletters, press releases and articles to be used on websites, social media, and newsletters.
- The potential candidate will assist in maintaining the DevTrain’s Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn and Instagram handles archive of digital images, videos, and other content.
- The Communication and Social Media Intern will play an active role the development of DevTrain online community.
- Consult with appropriate staff/departments on internal/external communications issues and the production of publications and presentation materials for the purpose of ensuring accurate data/information.
- The intern will learn how to reach communities, and promote events or programs through the internet and gain experience in social media platforms and the tools used to assess their performance.
Experiences:
- She/he must have up to 2 years’ experience in Project Cycle Management and managing organizational resources with excellent analytical professional report writing capacity.
- Skills related to word processing are required, and familiarity or training in electronic mail, website development, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Canva and other publishing software is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and their respective best practices.
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in social media.
- Prior experience in a communications role required with leadership experience highly desired. Excellent organizational skills and Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and requirements
- This internship is open to current NYSC member and recent graduates.
- This is a full-time paid internship (Stipends).
