Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Do you want to learn more about how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Nigeria? We’re offering a traineeship of up to 6 months within the Regional Cooperation & Trade Sections of the EU Delegation to Nigeria, starting in mid-June 2024.
As a trainee, you’ll split your time between the Regional Cooperation Section and the Trade & Economics Section. The Regional Cooperation Section manages regional programs and relationships with ECOWAS, covering sectors like peace and security, transport, energy, trade, and more. The Trade & Economics Section monitors trade and economic relations between the EU and Nigeria, analyzing developments and reporting on trends.
Your main tasks will include researching and analyzing trade and economic developments, reviewing regional trends, contributing to program planning, drafting reports, and monitoring project implementation. You’ll also attend events, draft reports, and monitor media coverage of Nigeria-EU trade and economic developments.

Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, citizens of Nigeria currently residing in Abuja will only be considered;
- Young graduates with at least a Bachelor Diploma (or equivalent)
- Maximum one year of professional experience
- No previous experience of more than six weeks in the EU Institutions
